Amazon VR Leadership Training Platform
Immersive onboarding platform that gamified new employee training through VR modules delivered via mailed Oculus headsets for day-one engagement.
When Amazon sought to revolutionize employee onboarding at scale, traditional training modules weren't going to deliver the engagement needed for their ambitious growth targets. I contributed strategic framework development and experience validation for an innovative solution: a comprehensive VR leadership training platform that transforms new hire orientation into an immersive, gamified experience. The challenge was creating distraction-free learning environments that could be deployed remotely while maintaining Amazon's rigorous training standards and leadership principles.

My role centered on validating the strategic framework for transforming Amazon's existing training materials into two parallel immersive experiences—a full VR curriculum and a complementary Web 3 course. Working with Amazon's HR and training teams, I helped establish the pedagogical foundation that made remote VR onboarding more effective than traditional methods. The platform development required careful validation of user experience flows across multiple training modules while ensuring the gamified elements enhanced rather than distracted from core leadership principle education. The Oculus headset delivery system created unique technical and logistical challenges that required innovative solutions.
The project successfully demonstrated that immersive technology can enhance corporate training efficacy by eliminating external distractions and creating focused learning environments. The VR platform allowed Amazon to deliver consistent, high-quality onboarding experiences regardless of geographic location or traditional classroom constraints. My contribution to the strategic validation and experience framework helped establish a scalable model for remote employee development that maintains Amazon's leadership training standards while dramatically improving engagement metrics. This work proves how thoughtful VR implementation can transform corporate learning when backed by solid instructional design and robust technical architecture.
